WHAT IS Sarawak Agrotourism Conference & Expo (SAtCE)

SAtCE is an International Conference and Expo comprised of participants from local and international agrotourism entities and related industries gather under one roof to exchange ideas, build business network and showcase their agrotourism products and services.

Agrotourism conferences provides a forum to learn more about agrotourism which will support farmers, organizations, institutions, corporate bodies and communities the opportunities to strengthen alliance toward achieving sustainable agriculture but also promote agrotourism industry.

Agrotourism expo offers a one stop centre for stakeholders of agrotourism ecosystems, and the key players of the sectors to display the best that can be offered to the visitors on agrotourism products, not only straightening the industry position but also encouraging more ventures.

SAtCE also serves as a platform that allows Ministries and government agencies to disseminate information to the ready visitors in more informative and hands-on advice on the policies and guidelines as well as to educate and instil the culture of sustainable environment thus promoting the agrotourism culture to the public.

Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD)

M-FICORD is the ministry responsible in spearheading the development of agriculture and rural communities in Sarawak. It was initially established in 2017 as Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development (MANRED) as the result of the merging of three (3) ministries - Ministry of Land Development (KKT), Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) and Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture (MOMA). On 21 September 2022, the ministry was rebranded as Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD).

As portrayed by its slogan - Empowering Communities, Enhancing Growth, Spearheading Development. M-FICORD aim to transform and sustain the agriculture and rural economy through modernisation and commercialization, to propel the agriculture sector towards a modern, competent agriculture and subsequently achieving the dream to make Sarawak the Net Food Exporter by 2030.

To realise this objective, M-FICORD would like to invite entrepreneurs, private sector, farmers and citizen to seize the opportunities and work together in modernising and developing Sarawak’s agriculture sector, thus lift the economy and Self-Sufficiency Level (SSL) of the agriculture sector.

Business Events Sarawak ( BE Sarawak )

Business Events Sarawak was established in 2006 and is fully backed and funded by the Sarawak State Government. It is a non-profit body to promote the state as a competitive destination for national and international business meetings. BE Sarawak role is to connect meeting planners with the right connections and resources to plan an organize meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions.

BORNEO CONVENTION CENTRE

The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) is the first international purpose-built convention centre in Sarawak, Malaysia. Growing alongside Sarawak’s position as a captivating culture, adventure and nature destination on the exotic island of Borneo, the BCCK debuted in 2009, as a state initiative of the Sarawak Government to grow business tourism through the hosting of business events. The centre has received local, national and regional accolades from professional standards, innovation and best practices achieved within Malaysia’s business events industry, and for having the size and capabilities to handle the requirements of different conferences in a bespoke manner
